History
Christine Zimmerman is a Grue human/hybrid. Her father, a wealthy entrepreneur and inventor had recovered a damaged Lor Republic Resquencer. After his talents led to it’s reconstruction he discovered to his horror that the family obstetrician was in fact a Grue experimentalist and that his unborn daughter was a Grue/Human hybrid – something the Grue Unity had craved for centuries.
With the help of the Supreme 6, Dr Zimmerman was able to convince for the Grue that their experiments had failed. The Grue experimentalist returned to the Grue Unity, exposed and disgraced and was duly “unmade” by the Grue Intelligence.
A number of children born to various families who were also patients of the same obstetrician subsequently developed a range of powers. While some appeared human, many clearly were not. Fearing the attention of AEGIS, UNISON, Overthrow or worse, the wealthy Dr Zimmerman established a community for the families on a private island.
The affected families sought a way to describe their situation in a way that did not allude to their otherworldly connections ("Star Children" was quickly rejected). Instead they decided on calling themselves “the Moreau”.
During Christine’s time in Next Gen it was discovered that the island Moreau were not the only of their kind, nor were they the first. Small persecuted colonies were scattered across the world, mostly living in hiding in places such as one colony in the storm tunnels under Arcadia.
As her career with Next Gen drew to a close Christine dropped the code name “Simul-8” in favour of the codename “Change”. Along with her partner “Null” she began a mission to peacefully bring persecuted Moreau to the Island while trying to promote peaceful coexistance.
Power Set
Christine’s powers include shapeshifting to a genetic level of a “catalogued” target, power replication of the imitated target and more recently the ability to create copies of herself via celluar division and recombination (drawing upon the same extra dimensional source as her shapeshifting) to acquire mass and material for full size duplicates. Mostly these duplicates are temporary in nature but a select group of Christine’s friends know of self aware rogue Christine copies including the villainous “Body Shop”.
Associates
During Christine’s tenure in Next Gen, a number of Moreau fled the Arcadia storm tunnels and spent time at Claremont. One of these refugees was Arthur who remains Christine's current partner.
Christine retains friendly relations with her cohort of Next Gen members and the Claremont Alumni. Christine was a Next Gen member alongside Adrian Hooper (currently of AEGIS) who later spent 2 student placements on the Island of Moreau during his teaching degree.
