History
Very little is known about Jane Doe beyond that she is extradimesional in origin, has a boss named "Vicki" and is one of Earth Prime's foremost experts on the Omniverse. Jane is particularly adept at evading questions. When reluctantly "supering" Jane uses the code name "Genesis".
Jane first appeared at Claremont Academy shortly after Navigatrix arrived with the "Alterni-Teens". While at Claremont Jane associated most closely with Adrian Hooper and Tara Breen who appeared to have an pre-existing relationship with her. The similar colour of Jane's and Tara's fiery red hair has been remarked on by many. Jane is the taller of the two women by a significant measure. The two appear to be close enough in physicality and age to be siblings.
Jane's presence at Claremont infuriated Professor Summers who noted that not only could he not obtain more information on her background but observed that she was already "very well trained".
When Adrian and Tara left Claremont for AEGIS, Jane tagged along but did not join. Director Thorne and Captain Danvers found Jane to be a just as frustrating enigma as Professor Summers does. Director Thorne also remarked that Jane has one of the lowest collateral damage to power quotients recorded.
Approximately a year ago Jane parted company with AEGIS and obtained employment with ASTRO Labs where she works on extra-dimensional projects.
Jane frequently visits the Wicked Witch Cafe in the Ordway Observatory. She maintains friendly relations with Tommy Tonka and Jesse Crockett of "the Band". Jane has revealed that Eric Eastwood, former member of the Band, now works for Jane's boss in her old role. Exactly what this is has never been elaborated on.
History known to Readers
Readers of "Ark of Worlds" and "Next Gen" (cira 2002-2006) are familiar with Jane as originating on Earth-65126 along with Vicki and Chase (also of the Ark of Worlds). She was recruited to the Ark of Worlds after growing up in the Claremont Academy of that reality. Jane was one of the first agents of the Ark to "break protocol" and reveal her true non-native nature to inhabitants of a reality. Something Vicki has still not forgiven Jane for.
Jane demonstrated formidable reality warping powers from a young age and takes great pains to avoid parties with similar powers. The closest she has come to explaining this is "you don't cross the streams".
Earth-65126 is approximately 35 years ahead of Earth Prime. Jane's world is more advanced than Earth Prime but is not "the future", rather it represnts "a future". In recent years Earth-65126 fell into a Terminus orbit that brings it dangerously close to the Doom Coil. Jane had to sever her reality anchor to her home reality and is currently anchored to Earth Prime. This means any continuity corrections on Earth Prime will affect Jane and she will be personally unaware of them.
In the "Gensis: Resurgence" series Jane's powers have started to demonstrate both wild flucations and spontaneous uncontrollability. [Editor: Read "Genesis" issues 1 - 6 for more information]
