Ark of Worlds Continuity Update

Reality: Earth Prime

Ian Johnson
Code name: Spook
Affiliation:  Currently Unaffiliated (formerly "Next Gen" circa 2002-2006)

Known associates
  • Emi Matsuoka  (Code name "Monitor")
  • Adrian David Hooper (code name "Extent")

History
Ian is an affable blond haired man who now works primarily in construction. He specialises in alloys and “super materials” and is regarded as one of the world’s experts on Impervium. He was directly involved in the construction of the AEGIS Spire in Arcardia’s bay.

Hailing from Portsmouth, Maine, USA Ian came from a non-descript middle class background where his mother also had a love for construction. His father was an artist. Ian has single sibling: a younger sister, Ginny, who also has superhuman powers but of a psychic nature. He is fond of living the life of a surfer as depicted in old movies: complete with long board and old VW Kombi. As a teen he practically lived out of the Kombi at the nearby Long Sands Beach.

Ian spent five years at Claremont and most of those as part of Next Gen. Ian had an early eagerness to become a hero but this dissipated over the years as the reality of hard choices and tragic consequences became clear to him. He has not employed the "Spook" code name for a number of years.

Power Set
Ian is a superhuman whose powers emerged in his early teens. He is able to disperse density while preserving cohesion resulting in an intangible state. He is not able to increase density but is able to merge diffused contract but can merge two or more objects before restoring their density. This creates incredibly resilient materials or can inflict horrific trauma. Ian’s abilities are limited to touch but prodigious. One of his most recent talents is to disperse density and not preserve cohesion – effectively disintegrating an item. Fortunately for all this is a difficult feat with limited size and something that Ian is not predisposed to using his powers this way.

Associates
Ian has maintained contact with his Next Gen contemporaries. The enigmatic Emi Matsuoka, thought lost to most of the world has reached out to Ian on occasion although, like almost everyone else he has no way to contact her.

Ian is in a long term relationship with Ms Sage Kahale. They reside in California with their twin children: Summer and Brody.

The Ark of Worlds

We exist beyond time. Beyond space. Even beyond reality. Our founders came to the Terminus and found this place abandoned. We do not know who built it or for what purpose. Our founders made it what it is today: an archive of what was but now never was. The three founders. A genius in any and all realities. She is able to quantum compute her own brain; able to harness the processing power of her other selves. Her brother, one of the most powerful reality manipulators since the time of Unas. Constantly bombarded by possibilities only he can see, his mind struggled to focus upon any given reality. The final founder is an anomaly. Something that should not exist but does, replicating as an impossible fractal across worlds. Most her kind perished long ago; only two others remain and they have not witnessed a new of their type since time immemorial. Is she the last of these beings or the first of them reborn? All three of the Founders tap the very fabric of the Omniv...

Ordway Observatory: The Facility Layout and Surrounds

Ordway Observatory: The Facility Layout and Surrounds Originally Published by Jason Cochrane on Oct 12, 2016 at 07:12 AM The Ordway Observatory (OO) once stood as a lonely five story landmark but suburbia has grown around it. The OO finds itself on a crossroads with shops and local commerce on all bar the western side of the property. The OO is bordered by a small car park to the east and south and a set of shops to the north. Primary vehicle entry to the OO is by the eastern car park entrance (with easy access to the workshop). As the only local five story structure it is the tallest building in the neighbourhood. All the remains of the OO’s once generous grounds is a tree dappled park backing onto the west side of the Observatory. Wildey Park is popular with locals and visitors alike and provides a steady source of patronage for the Wicked Witch Café. Wildey Park features a basketball court which, by happy coincidence, can just accommodate an AEGIS VTOL Interceptor. While this ...

The Odd Couple: Jean and Navigatrix

The Odd Couple: Jane and Navigatrix Originally Published by Jason Cochrane on Jun 06, 2016 at 08:18 AM “Navigatrix, does it ever bother you seeing strangers wearing the face of people you know and love?” Jane desperately hoped the intelligent construct would be empathetic to her plight. The anthropomorphic android cocked it’s head at an almost human angle. “No. It does not Jane. I was constructed to travel the Omni-verse. I was programmed to expect echoes, reflections and iterations.” Navigatrix was seated next to Jane on a bench at Claremont Academy. It was fall. The sun was shining but provided feeble warmth from the clear sky. Jane was dressed casually in Janes, a t-shirt and flannel. Navigatrix wore nothing. The robot’s synthetic white and silver alloyed form was on display but no one payed any heed. After all, this was Claremont Academy, the world’s premier super-school. Navigatrix was far from the most unusual being present. Jane slid back on the bench and lo...
